A Heart For Worship? –

“I can safely say, on the authority of all that is revealed in the Word of God, that any man or woman on this earth who is bored and turned off by worship is not ready for heaven.” -A.W. Tozer

It seems to me that many people think of Heaven as “the place you go if you don’t want to end up in Hell.” It also seems that everyone has their very own ideas regarding what Heaven truly contains and, to be honest, I can’t tell you exactly what you should expect to see if you happen to go there. Mostly because I only know what is revealed by God’s word and I’m positive my own imagination cannot do justice to the glory I will find in that place. However, I do know for a fact that Heaven is reserved for those who love God and want to worship Him. I’m not talking about a wishy-washy, skin deep kind of love, though. I’m talking about a real, deep love that prompts a response – one that leaves you no choice but to raise your voice in praise. You see, Heaven is a place where we will with spend our days worshiping Him and praising His name; a place where our worship will be perfect – not tainted by selfish ambition or worldly thoughts; a place where we will honor the One who has redeemed us and brought us into His perfect home. This will be our occupation and what a glorious one it will be!

However, if one finds praise and worship boring or dull, it seems this occupation does not suit them. You see, Heaven isn’t simply a place for anyone who “doesn’t want to end up in Hell.” It is a place for those who understand God’s love enough to be filled with an undeniable need to worship Him.
