Counting My Blessings –

Today, I have a lot to be thankful for. First off, there are these beautiful little white flakes coming down outside and I think it’s safe to say it is officially snowing. This is an event that usually brings a fair share of excitement for me, but even more so today because the snow has been scarce this winter and well… I really like snow. πŸ™‚

Second, I got a chance to use my new camera on said snow.

What I’m Most Thankful For Today –
But what I’m most thankful for today is my mother. I’m really just speechless with gratitude when it comes to all she’s done for me. She has been one of my greatest examples and I know that her love and wisdom will continue to impact me all of my life.

I am incredibly blessed to have such a mother and I thank the Lord again and again.

So today, on her birthday, I pray she has the most amazing day and that it’s the start to a very wonderful year.

I love you, Mom. πŸ™‚

And to top it all off, I even had enough energy to whip up someΒ Meringues (mom’s favorite) to celebrate the day.

So I’m feeling especially blessed as I look at my life and I’m praising God for all that He’s done. He is faithful and good (even when I can’t seem to see past my life’s troubles) and I thank Him for continually opening my eyes to that.

What are you thankful for today?

And I meant to say, happy birthday to your mom. =)

Ps. I can’t stop looking at the photos! Great job! Especially the snowy one. It’s awesome! What camera?

      • haha thank you, Joy! (and my mom says thank you, too) πŸ™‚
I got a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi for Christmas this year as a gift from some very generous friends. I’m still surprised about the whole thing… lol and very thankful. Part of my plans for college is photography, so this helps out significantly. Mostly because I’ve always had to make due with not so great cameras and now I’m finally learning the ins and outs of the nicer ones and getting comfortable with them. πŸ™‚

Wow! That’s a GIFT! I got a Nikon D90 last summer as an 18th birthday/graduation gift, so I know how great it must be for you to be able to photograph with a “real” camera. πŸ˜‰ So you want to do photography for college? I’m sure you’ll be great at it, judging by the photos above. =)

I’ll have to get outside soon (very soon, hopefully) and get some photos taken. You inspired me, haha.

            Blessings, Rachel! <3

          • Yeah, it is! πŸ™‚ Thank you(: I plan on doing journalism and photography in college, and topping it off with a degree in massage therapy (though I’m considering getting that first and using it to work my way through college).
Yes! I’ll be looking forward to seeing those photos. πŸ˜‰ haha
Blessings to you too, Joy! <3
